Our Carers and Staff
We regard our Carers very highly and appreciate that it is their skills, compassion and commitment that enables our company to maintain the excellent standard of care that we are renown for.
We recognise too, the part played by our office staff who sensitively and efficiently deal with all sorts of enquiries from our clients and carers and who offer 24hr support to both.
Our Recruitment Policy
We have very high, exacting standards and are very selective when taking on new staff. Only few of those people applying to join us are successful. We have vigorous and lengthy recruitment, vetting and selection procedures covering at least the applicants previous five years.
Each applicant must undergo an enhanced D.B.S. (Disclosure and Barring Service) and POVA (Vulnerable Adults register) check.
All applicants are assessed on their passion and commitment to care and support people who want to live independently at home.
Training
Once through our initial selection process all new carers must complete an Induction which includes a written work book. They must undergo our basic training requirements including Manual Handling, First Aid, Food Hygiene, Infection Control, Dementia Awareness, Medication, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Fire training.
All our Carers carrying out personal care hold a minimum qualification of NVQ2 but most are NVQ3 and 4. We actively encourage the personal development of our carers and encourage them to train in areas of special interest to them, dementia for example.
Every Carer throughout their career with our company, has quarterly Supervision and Observation sessions and annual Appraisals.
All Carers are used to working in a very wide range of situations and are hand-picked for each assignment for their skills and personality.
